Establishing a connection to WBM:

  • Open a web browser on your computer.
  • In the address field, enter the URL https://<IP-address-of-the-controller>/wbm, for example: https://192.168.1.10/wbm.

View Containers tab

The View Containers tab on the License Management page displays the licenses of the apps from the PLCnext Store, which are installed on the controller.

The following information is displayed in the View Containers overview:

Column Description
Container Serial number of the container. A container is used to manage licenses.
Firm Code Identification of the licenser (here: Phoenix Contact GmbH & Co. KG).
Product Code Unique identification code of the licensed software.
Feature Map The Feature Map specifies with which scope of functions the app is installed.
Description Name of the licenser or app license.

 

  • Click the Refresh button to refresh the overview of the licenses on the controller.

Details

  • Click on the Details button to obtain further information on an app license.

In addition to the information given in the View Containers overview, the following fields can be found in the Details window:

Field Description
Activation Time Date as of when the license is valid.
Expiration Time Date as of when the license is invalid.
Usage Period Usage period in days
Status

Current status of the license (License valid or License invalid)

 

Offline Activation tab

Available from 2020.0 LTS

 

On the Offline Activation tab, licenses can be activated and deactivated offline with license files provided by the PLCnext Store.

 The Offline Activation Wizard will guide you through the activation process and provides further information.

When buying an app in the PLCnext Store, you will receive a license information file (WibuCmLIF). Save this file on your PC. 

Note: Before the installation you have to license the app first.

 

  1. Offline Activation step 1 Create license context
  • If no container was found, create one:
    • You can create a container directly via the standard procedure Option 1. Click on Create container.
      or
    • you can create a container via Option 2 by uploading a *.WibuCmLIF license information file that you received after buying an app from the PLCnext Store
      Note: Use this option only when you are asked by the licenser to import a specific *.WibuCmLIF file.
  • Upload the *.WibuCmLIF that you received after buying an app from the PLCnext Store. Use Option 1 or Option 2 as described on the WBM page for the upload.

 A *.WibuCmRaC license context file will be created. 

  • Download the license context file and save it on your PC.
  1. Switch to the PLCnext Store
  • Upload the *.WibuCmRaC license context file in the PLCnext Store

 The PLCnext Store will generate a *.WibuCmRaU (license update) file based on the information from the uploaded license context file. 

  • Download the generated update file and save it on your PC.

 

  1. Offline Activation step 2 Upload license update
  • Upload the *.WibuCmRaU license update by clicking on the Browse... button.

 

  1. Offline Activation step 3 Create license receipt

 A *.WibuCmRaR (license receipt) file is generated and provided for download.

  • Download the *.WibuCmRaR license receipt file from the WBM and save it on your PC. 

 

  1. Switch to the PLCnext Store
  • To complete the offline licensing, upload the license receipt file (*.WibuCmRaR) in the PLCnext Store.
